RIYADH: Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah will attend today the feature race for the King Abdul Aziz Cup at the King Abdul Aziz racetrack at Janadriya.
Prince Miteb bin Abdullah, assistant deputy commander of the National Guard for military affairs, thanked King Abdullah and Crown Prince Sultan, deputy premier and minister of defense and aviation, for their support to the event in particular and the equestrian sport in general in the Kingdom, in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency yesterday.
Rashid Al-Zanaidi, director general of the Equestrian Club said: "The club has made all arrangements at the King Abdul Aziz course to make the occasion a great success.
Seven races will be held today. The final event will be the race for the SR400,000 King Abdul Aziz Cup over 1,600 meters. The seven-card day will start with the race for the SR54,000 Prince Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman Prize over 2,400 meter.
The other races are SR78,000 Prince Abdullah bin Julawi Prize for 1,800 meters, SR78,000 Prince Abdul Aziz bin Julawi Prize over 1,800 meters, SR 54,000 Prince Fahd bin Julawi Prize for the race over 1,600 meters, SR54,000 Prince Abdul Aziz bin Musaed bin Julawi Prize for the race over 1,600 meters and SR66,000 Prince Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah bin Turki Prize for the race over 1,400 meters.
