JEDDAH: Bab Rizq Jameel (BRJ), a Abdul Latif Jameel Community Services Programs (ALJCSP) initiative, successfully created 3,189 job opportunities in February through its diversified job creation programs, which were implemented at each of its branches, with the support of the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF).
During February, BRJ created 163 job opportunities through its training ending with employment program. Training courses have been introduced in accounting and air conditioning for men, and in makeup, first aid and tailoring for women. In addition, 638 job opportunities have been created through its direct employment programs with support from HRDF.
The most important job created for the companies contracted with ALJCSP were jobs as security guards, sales supervisors and cashiers. The majority of employment requests were received from Al-Hukair, Salamt Al-Modon and Al-Sadhan Malls. Salaries ranged from SR1,500 to SR3,500.
The productive household program provided support to 1,984 females through the microfinance program. In addition, 327 small projects have been financed at an average cost of SR45,000. Most of the projects were in the areas of tailor shops, beauty centers, agricultural projects and home appliance showrooms. One hundred and twenty four projects were financed for men, compared to 203 for women. Through taxi ownership and truck ownership programs, 37 taxis and 40 trucks were provided to youths.
Meanwhile, 2,200 prayer rugs were produced during February through the work from home program, which is supervised by the Nafisa Shams Academy for Arts and Crafts in cooperation with BRJ. Seventy women produced the rugs.
