JEDDAH: Winners of a Qur’an competition conducted during Ramadan for Indian children in Jeddah have been announced. Jamiat-e-Ansar, a community group, organized the written competition entitled “Explore the Qur’an” after a month-long campaign.
Shameela Mohammad, Mohammed Sufyan Sameer and Abrar Abdullah respectively won the first three places in the senior category. Winners in the junior category are Hafeeda Iqbal Hussain, Ramsiya Banu Humayoon and Hanim Mohammed Ridvan. Prizes will be distributed at a ceremony in Sharafiya’s Impala Auditorium on Oct. 30, said M. Abdul Kareem, the coordinator of the competition.
