AL-JOUF: At least 24 people, including two children, have been admitted to hospital in Sakaka in the northern Al-Jouf province after eating shawarma at a local restaurant on Thursday night.

“Twenty-four people were admitted to the city’s hospitals until evening and all of them are in stable condition,” Fahd Al-Korae, spokesman for the Health Department in Al-Jouf, told Arab News yesterday. He said a committee comprising officials of the municipality, police and the Health Department had been set up to investigate the incident.
