AL-JOUF: The number of people hospitalized in the northern city of Sakaka in Al-Jouf province after eating tainted shawarma at a local fast food restaurant on Thursday rose to 51 yesterday.
By Friday night, 24 people were hospitalized with symptoms of food poisoning. “A number of children, who are relatively vulnerable to food poisoning, have been sent for specialist treatment. Most other victims are out of danger though they need continued hospital care,” a Health Department spokesman said yesterday.
