JEDDAH: The licenses section at the Health Department in Jeddah yesterday ordered the closure of eight pharmacies in various parts of the city on the charge of operating without permits, Mahout Abdul Jawed, assistant director of private sector relations for the local Health Department, said in a statement.
“The department’s inspectors discovered that the licenses of eight pharmacies in the city were expired. They did not apply for the renewal of their licenses at the stipulated time. Penal actions will be taken against any violator of pharmacy regulations,” Abdul Jawed said.
“It is binding on pharmacies to follow the regulations and stipulations on which their licenses are granted. They will be subject to regular inspections and violators will be punished,” he added.
