JEDDAH: Three Indian diplomats enrolled for the MBA course offered as a distance education program by Indira Gandhi National University (IGNOU) at its stand at the MEETES ཅ, which opened here on Sunday night.
Indian Consul General Sayeed Ahmed Baba, who formally opened the stand, announced his enrollment, followed by consuls — B.S. Mubarak (Haj, press and information) and Shakeel Ahmed (education and culture).
“Education is a continuous process regardless of your qualification and experience. It's never too late to enhance your qualification,” the consul general remarked.
According to Dr. Shahnaz Patel, director of ATEICO-IGNOU Saudi Arabia, IGNOU is showcasing its various distance education courses, especially for girls and housewives who are keen on seeking higher degrees. She pointed out how Juveria Hashmi, a Jeddah housewife with two children, made history by winning a gold medal for her masters in English literature from here. Juveria received her gold medal at the IGNOU convocation held in New Delhi recently.
“In fact, IGNOU Saudi Arabia, which has announced a reduction in its fee structure for some of its programs, has struck gold in its masters program in English literature for the third time now,” she said, adding that it has thus become the first international center to win consecutively three gold medals in M.A. English literature.
