JEDDAH: Pakistan International School Jeddah-English Section is introducing an undergraduate program through the London School of Economics from the academic session commencing in September.
“This follows our promise to the community to achieve unparalleled heights,” Sehar Kamran, acting principal of the school, said yesterday.
“We have taken the initiative to introduce the undergraduate program of LSE through the University of London,” she said.
“We will be offering selected B.Sc. courses of LSE, including accounting and finance, economics and management, international relations and business,” she said, hoping that the community would welcome the move as it meets the long-standing need for providing higher education to their children.
“With your support we are determined to meet all challenges and serve the community as much as we can,” she told the community at the Pakistan Day celebrations held at the school over the weekend.
“I offer my profound gratitude to our Consul General Zaigham Uddin Azam for extending his confidence and providing us an opportunity to move forward. We are committed to the cause of education and we assure no stone will be left unturned to achieve our goals,” she added.
The consul general, speaking as the chief guest, explained the significance of Pakistan Day and lauded the efforts of the school to continuously upgrade its facilities and faculty.
Khizer Hayat, Pakistan Cricket Board’s general manager for umpires and referees, was the guest of honor at the event, which was sponsored by the Al-Hamrani Group of Companies and marked by the performance of ghazal maestro Ustad Hamid Ali Khan and students.
The school, which has been following the Cambridge syllabus since its establishment in 1995, has at present 1,480 students on its rolls.
