DAMMAM: Police in the eastern city of Alkhobar have arrested and charged three people for the murder of a 62-year-old Pakistani mechanic at his apartment last week.
Col. Yousuf Al-Qahtani, spokesman for the Eastern Province police, said officers discovered the man’s blood-soaked body at his home after receiving a call from his employer that he had been absent from work for sometime. The man had been stabbed several times.
Al-Qahtani said initial investigations led police to suspect the involvement of three Bangladeshis, aged 22, 25 and 30. “The three men were on their way to Riyadh when security forces arrested them,” he said. “The primary motive behind the murder was a sum of SR7,500 which the victim had in his apartment. The three men broke into the apartment, stabbed the Pakistani man and then fled,” he said.
He said the men have confessed to the crime and have been charged with murder.
