JEDDAH: The Health Affairs in Jeddah closed down on Tuesday a physiotherapy center in Al-Hamra district for not employing licensed and qualified staff.
Dr. Mahmoud Abdul Jawwad, assistant to the director of Health Affairs for the private sector, said the center also failed to offer curative programs and was only offering massages.
“The center contained no physiotherapy equipment that should be available in such places,” Abdul Jawwad said. He added that private medical centers would continue to be subjected to sporadic inspections to ensure they do not violate Health Ministry regulations.
Dr. Sami bin Muhammad Badoud, director of Health Affairs in Jeddah, stressed that the department would not hesitate in strictly applying regulations on private hospitals and medical centers.
“These rules were made for the welfare of patients and we intend to stick firmly to them,” he added.
