JEDDAH: An American art exhibition entitled “Picturing America” is being hosted today afternoon at the Nassif house in downtown Jeddah. The event is part of the cultural program that is organized by Jeddah municipality’s Culture and Tourism Department. Its head Sami Nawwar said the Cultural Office at the American Consulate organized the 10-day event. The exhibition is open daily for the public from 9 a.m. to noon and from 5 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. “Pictures are the most expressive forms of art that can portray an accurate description of human civilizations,” Nawwar said, adding that he expects the exhibition to draw a lot of public attention. “Picturing America” aims to tell the story of America through its art, according to Ami Shah, cultural attaché at the American Consulate in Jeddah. The event is composed of forty framed reproductions of significant American painters, sculptors, photographers and architects.
