MAKKAH: A 25-year-old man has been arrested for attempting to destroy ATM machines in the Al-Mansour and Umm Al-Joud neighborhoods of Makkah on Sunday.
“The man was caught setting fire to the machines. He is also suspected to be behind an attempt to burn an ATM machine in another part of the city on Saturday. He is currently receiving treatment for burns and would be interrogated after being discharged,” said a police officer, who did not want to be named.
An official at Al-Noor hospital confirmed that police brought in a man who had suffered first-degree burns on Sunday.
He was subsequently sent to King Abdul Aziz Hospital for continued treatment under police guard, he added.
