JEDDAH: The third season of the Saudi comedy series “Bainy O Bainak” (“Between you and me”) in Riyadh kicked off with a rollick.
The comedy series stars the well-known Saudi actors Rashid Al-Shamrani, Hasan Asiri, Fayz Al-Malki, Omar Al-Diny, Abdullah Asiri, Ali Al-Madfaa, Reem Abdullah and Ahlam Eid, as well as others.
Producer Muhammad Al-Awali and writer/actor Hasan Asiri have teamed up again seeking to bring something new and different from the previous two series.
Many of the same characters will be used-including Al-Wasel (“The Connector”) but Hasiri will play a new character by the name of Dinhi. In one episode, Al-Wasel tries to cheat Dinhi and Menahi in the new series by inducing them to buy the Hilal and Ittihad soccer clubs. The situation comedy that follows is hilarious. Al-Wasel also tries to cheat Dinhi and Menahi to marry famous actresses from popular Turkish telenovelas.
The cast and crew are filming the series at locations outside the Kingdom. For the first time they will also film in Jeddah and Taif. Saudi series are filmed and canned for broadcast each night during the month of Ramadan, and then the re-runs play out for the rest of the year.
