JEDDAH: Dhahran will become the water and power capital of Saudi Arabia from June 7 to 10 when the Kingdom’s oil city will host the WE Power exhibition and conference.
Now in its fifth year, WE Power has built a strong reputation as the platform where policy makers, industry leaders, experts and practitioners from the water and power industry meet and discuss.
This year, with the addition of a strategic conference, WE Power is likely to exceed quality expectations as the most prestigious names in the industry have lined up to speak at the conference including Fareed Zedan, governor of the Electricity & Co-Generation Regulatory Authority, Loay Al-Musallam, CEO of National Water Company, and Paddy Padmanathan, president & CEO of Acwapower.
The event is organized jointly by the Ministry of Water and Electricity, Saudi Electricity Company, Saudi Water and Electricity Company, Saline Water Conversion Corporation, Electricity & Co-Generation Regulatory Authority and King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology.
Some 110 companies from across the globe are expected to take part in the exhibition, which has now become a not to be missed platform for the water, electricity and power professionals. “The biggest names in the water and power industries are placing their trust in WE Power, enhancing its reputation as the biggest water, electricity and power event in the Kingdom,” one organizer said.
The recent visit of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah to the Eastern Province where he inaugurated the world’s largest water desalination and power generation plant has highlighted the huge potential the region has to offer in the water, electricity and power sectors.
“As the only water and power event officially supported by the Ministry of Water and Electricity and state owned companies SWCC, SEC and ECRA in the Eastern Province, WE Power offers a window into limitless business opportunities,” the organizers said.
Rasheed Al-Zahrani, CEO of Riyadh Techno Valley, is one of the keynote speakers. He will speak on the ambitious initiative led by King Saud University.
