YANBU: A special committee has inspected 190 houses in Al-Ais to ascertain whether they are fit for human living or not.
Madinah Gov. Prince Abdul Aziz bin Majed had ordered the formation of a house inspection committee comprising officials of the Madinah Governorate, the Civil Defense, police and the Municipal Office to inspect houses in areas which experienced tremors, measuring up to 5.6 on the Richter scale, in recent weeks.
The committee’s reports describing the extent of damage to homes will be sent to the Civil Defense offices in Yanbu and Madinah.
Government offices in Al-Ais town and surrounding villages reopened yesterday after Prince Abdul Aziz visited the area and ordered officials to return to work.
Meanwhile, a tremor measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale was recorded in Harrah Al-Shaqah during the period between noon Friday and noon yesterday, sources said.
