RIYADH: Health Minister Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah announced yesterday that the condition of the conjoined Moroccan twins, Saeeda and Azizah was stable.
“The two kids are in intensive observation as 24 hours have passed after the operation that separated them at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh at the expense of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah,” he said. “All vital organs such as heart and liver are working normally. The dependence on artificial respiratory system will be reduced in order to help the children breathe by themselves.”
The minister said the twins are now in the pediatric intensive care unit at the hospital where they are expected to convalesce for at least three weeks.
The psychological condition of the twins’ parents is good, he said.
