JEDDAH: A lecture on companions of the Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) will be held today at a venue close to the Isteqdam office here. Abdul Sattar Khan, a journalist and researcher, will be the main speaker. “This is part of a monthly lecture series on 10 heavenly-bound companions of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh),” said Abdul Mateen Osmani, the organizer. Illegal money office busted in Jeddah
JEDDAH: Jeddah police arrested an unspecified number of Yemenis for allegedly running an illegal remittance office so that their countrymen could send money back home, local media reports said on Tuesday. "On receiving a tip off about the illegal operations of the gang inside a grocery in the Ghulail district in the south Jeddah, a police team raided the office and apprehended the violators," Jeddah police spokesman Col. Misfar Al-Juaid said in a statement on Monday. The police also seized a large sum of cash in the office.
Saudi girls vie to be Miss Ethics in Safwa
DAMMAM: Saudi girls from different parts of the Eastern Province will participate on Thursday in the “Miss Ethics” pageant in Safwa. According to Al-Riyadh newspaper, 275 contestants will vie for the title of the “Queen of Ethics”. There will also be two runners up. The results would be announced on the second day of the festival.
