JEDDAH: Security authorities arrested on Wednesday morning the fourth man wanted in the sex braggart scandal as he arrived at King Abdulaziz International Airport on a Saudia flight from Morocco, according to acting police spokesman Lt. Col. Suleiman Al-Mutawae. The man is believed to be the third accomplice that was seen on the July 15 episode of LBC’s “Bold Red Line” featuring Mazen Abdul Jawad discussing in frank detail matters of sex, including frank talk about his supposed sexual adventures. The other three men are already in custody.
Forklift mishap kills driver
MADINAH: A Pakistani forklift driver died on Wednesday when his forklift lost balance and fell down at a construction site in the central area of Madinah, the acting spokesman of the Civil Defense Lt. Col. Talal Al-Harbi announced. He said three Civil Defense units and two forklifts participated in the operation to lift the heavy machinery in an attempt to rescue the driver.
Faith healing without license
JEDDAH: The summary court here is considering charges filed by the Prosecution and Investigation Commission against a Saudi man who was practicing incantations without a license from the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Propagation and Guidance. The PIC said it had repeatedly warned the man against doing this but he would not repent. “We have confirmed information that the man was still practicing incantation despite the ban imposed on him by the court,” it said. The PIC did not identify the man but said he was treating his patients with verses from the Holy Qur’an at his apartment in north Jeddah where he has become very famous.
Swindlers from Nigeria arrested
JEDDAH: The Jeddah police arrested two Nigerian men who have been charged with swindling money from citizens and expatriates on the pretext that they would invest the funds in agricultural projects outside Saudi Arabia with feasible returns, acting police spokesman Lt. Col. Suleiman Al-Mutawae announced on Tuesday. He said the two swindlers convinced their victims that they could make big profits in a short span of time. The two Nigerians asked their victims for limited amounts of money ranging between $10,000 and $15,000 as initial investments in the fake projects.
Jubail fire cause being probed
DAMMAM: The Civil Defense is investigating the cause of the fire that claimed six lives in a residential camp close of the Khurasaniyah gas plant. Nearly 40 workers of the Consolidated Contractors International Company (CCC) are still missing. According to a report in Al-Yaum newspaper on Wednesday, the fire caused considerable losses. “Everything was gutted. This included the personal belongings of a large number of workers,” the newspaper quoted some of the affected workers as saying.
