RIYADH: The Health Ministry on Wednesday announced two more swine flu deaths in Riyadh and Abha.
The two new deaths brings the total number of reported swine flu deaths in the Kingdom to eleven.
Health Ministry spokesman Khaled Al-Mirghalani confirmed the deaths to Arab News on Wednesday night, saying one of the deceased was a “young man” with heart problems and the other was on “old man.”
Meanwhile, the mother of the 12-year-old girl that reportedly died from H1N1 on Aug. 5 in Ahsa, Eastern Province says the hospital is reporting that her daughter died of swine flu to cover up malpractice.
“I am here asking the Health Affairs Department (to tell me) how this disease got to my daughter,” said the mother to the daily Al-Yaum in a report published on Wednesday. “We did not travel anywhere. We don’t have a maid or a driver. We were nowhere but home for a full month (before she died).”
The parents, who were not identified, are demanding an investigation into the cause of their girl’s death. They also want to know why it took seven days for the medical report to be released. They also said it has taken four days and counting to receive the results of their blood analyses to screen them for H1N1.
