I take immense pleasure in expressing my heartfelt felicitations to my Pakistani brethren on the 63rd Independence Day of Pakistan on Aug. 14, a day to renew our pledges to make Pakistan a prosperous, strong and a developed country.
We are grateful to Allah Almighty for blessing us with a democracy that is making great efforts to make Pakistan both politically stable and economically strong in consonance with the guidance of the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Pakistan has been fortunate enough to weather a series of crises and get back on the democratic path wherein the people's representative, Parliament, is supreme.
The government is working on the reform agenda that calls for improving the life of the poor through accelerated economic development.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have enjoyed strong bilateral relations, which reflect the uniformity in thoughts and understanding of issues. Both of them have been complementing each other's efforts at all regional and international forums.
I also wish to express my sincere thanks to the Pakistani community in the Western Region that has been supportive of our efforts in bringing a positive change and making a worthwhile contribution to strengthening Pakistan-Saudi relations.
The government believes in continuity and consistency of policies of good governance, moderation and the creation of an enabling environment for investment and trade, particularly extending all facilities to foreign investors with full repatriation of capital gains, dividends and profits.
Pakistan has good forex reserves of $11.07 billion, which would not have been possible without the support of overseas Pakistanis, especially from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia who contributed foreign exchange.
At the end, I would like to urge all my Pakistani brothers and sisters to work with dedication for the growth and development of both the Kingdom and Pakistan.
