Jet Airways, which currently operates flights to 64 destinations across the world, has reported heavy passenger loads since it began its services from Saudi Arabia last month. “Our planes have been flying with full capacity, which suggest that the strategy of launching flights and offering quality services on the Indo-Saudi sector is paying off,” said Afzal Azam Baig, Jet Airways general manager.
Baig said that Jet Airways was thrilled to establish direct links between India and one of the Middle East’s key destinations — Riyadh. The Mumbai-Jeddah flight is also equally important especially with the number of passengers visiting the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah is on the rise.
On behalf of Fursan Travel, the GSA of Jet Airways for Central Province, Roger Pfund, Fursan’s chief executive officer, spoke about the future plans and the quality services offered by the airline. Pfund said that the passengers flying Jet Airways to India can also use Mumbai as a gateway for many other South Asian destinations like Hong Kong and Singapore. He said the start of these flights further marked Jet’s commitment and growth in the Middle East. It also symbolizes the strong partnership with Fursan.
Baig pointed out that the airline was operating four flights a week on the Riyadh-Mumbai sector, using Boeing 737-800 aircraft. “This will be further expanded to daily flights during the winter,” he added.
This is the next logical step as Saudi Arabia is also home to over 1.6 million Indian expatriates, added Baig. The flight to/from Riyadh, he said, marked the airline’s eighth destination to the Gulf, while Jeddah marked the seventh.
At present, Jet Airways flies from Riyadh, Jeddah, Kuwait, Bahrain, Muscat, Doha, Dubai and Abu Dhabi to various major cities in India with seamless connections domestically and internationally.
Its flights to 63 destinations span the length and breadth of India and beyond.
