RAMALLAH: Arab Palestinian confectioners on Saturday entered the Guinness Book of Records with a giant chunk of sesame halawa they produced in the Arab town of Nazareth inside Israel. Sesame halawa is composed of sesame seed paste (tahini) and honey. Other ingredients and flavorings such as pistachio nuts, cocoa powder, orange juice, vanilla, or chocolate are often added to the basic tahini and sugar base. Afou Aghbaryeh, an Arab member of Israeli Knesset who attended the ceremony, said the Nazareth Sweets Factory produced the chunk, which reached 200 meters and weighed 4,000 kilograms.
