JEDDAH: The Past and Present Bazaar at Mall of Arabia ended with a fanfare. The closing ceremony included a traditional Saudi music and dance show attended by Jeddah Municipal Council Chairman Tariq Fadak.
Organizers also showcased traditional local Saudi cultural handicrafts.
One particular booth featured a Tony Buzan licensed mind-mapping instructor Rawan Al-Marwani, 12.
“I am here to tell visitors about my newly created Bothor (Seeds) group,” she said.
“The idea behind this group is to establish and define a child’s mental capability and know how to deal with children professionally in order to develop their mental capabilities.”
Rawan’s father explained: “This is all Rawan’s effort. She believes in helping other children of her age achieve their goals and help them explore their potentials through education and shared knowledge. She was honored as the youngest Buzan-licensed instructor in the world a few months back.”
Her father said Rawan used to spend her time after school learning mind mapping and later attended seminars in Jeddah. She later formed “Fatyaat,” a girls’ reading club that uses mind mapping and teaches speed-reading. Rawan with her father are planning to break the world’s record in creating the world’s biggest mind map in Saudi Arabia.
