JEDDAH: Police are currently investigating the disappearance of SR4 million from ATMs belonging to a number of commercial banks in various parts of Jeddah.

According to police spokesman Lt. Col. Sulaiman Al-Mutawa, the company in charge of stocking cash in the ATMs reported the disappearance of money.

Al-Mutawa did not name the company but said it discovered money was missing while auditing its accounts. “When the company learned for sure that cash was missing, it started an internal investigation but took the matter to the police after failing to solve the mystery,” he added.

The police spokesman said a number of employees at the company were being investigated.
