JEDDAH: The Traffic Department in Jeddah revealed a reprogramming of traffic lights to facilitate the spike in traffic during Ramadan. Col. Muhammad Al-Qahtani, head of the Jeddah traffic police, said all capabilities have been mobilized and there will be more traffic police out at peak traffic times, especially at night.

Iftar tents monitored

JEDDAH: Civil Defense teams have started monitoring iftar tents at restaurants and hotels. The safety team will ensure these tents are following proper safety procedures to prevent accidents. Iftar tents receive hundreds of visitors every day. The inspectors will also make sure that these tents are fire resistant and have other required safety features.

Fatal clash in Madinah farm

MADINAH: Col. Muhsin Al-Radadi, official spokesman of Madinah police, said a Yemeni man died after a fight broke out in Al-Khalil farms between Bangladeshi and Yemeni workers. The Yemeni was stabbed with a sharp object and died at King Fahd Hospital. Police arrested the suspected assailant and several others involved in the skirmish.
