MADINAH: Two young boys, aged 12 and 13, are recuperating in hospital after three men ran them over with their vehicle during a failed kidnap attempt.
One boy was still in a coma on Saturday while the other boy, who regained consciousness after receiving treatment, gave his story to the police.
According to the Al-Riyadh newspaper on Sunday, quoting the statement from the boy, three unidentified men in a white Caprice began following them late Friday night as they were walking home.
The boys began to run when the vehicle struck one of them. The other boy ran into a building under construction. The men surrounded the building and demanded the boy surrender himself.
Instead, the boy bolted from the building and the men got back into the vehicle to pursue him. The boy was then run over and suffered a head injury.
