RIYADH: Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal, chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation, Lebanon, has donated $1 million to the World Scout Foundation.

The donation was given to the World Scout Foundation’s general endowment to support the development of scouting worldwide, particularly in developing countries.

The Scouts’ mission is to contribute to the education of young people — through a value system based on the Scout Promise and Law — to help build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society.

Currently, there are more than 28 million Scouts, young people and adults, male and female, in 216 countries and territories.
