JEDDAH: A 27-year-old pregnant woman who went missing after traveling from central Qassim province to Jeddah on a medical visit with her husband has yet to be found, the daily Al-Watan reported on Tuesday.
The woman, identified as Anoud, was reported missing on Aug. 19 after her husband, Sholail Al-Harbi, went into a building to view an apartment; when he returned to his vehicle his wife was gone.
Sholail’s cousin, Fahad, told the paper that the couple was searching for an apartment near the hospital.
“When they went to the last apartment he went to the building alone as she preferred to remain in the car,” said Fahad. “But when he came back she was not in the car.”
Anoud has a history of mental illness. She was treated three years ago after her last pregnancy for attempting to run away and commit suicide, according to the cousin.
“Sholail is very much upset and is looking for her in hospitals and police stations and even on streets,” he added. Sholail appealed to the public to find his wife. She was described as having a light complexion, weighing 65 kgs. Her height was given at 160 cms. The police did not say whether her pregnancy had progressed enough to be used as a way to identify her.
