GENEVA: The World Health Organization said Wednesday that the first shipment of relief supplies has arrived in northern Yemen’s Saada city, where intense fighting has displaced 35,000 in the past three weeks alone. The shipment contains medicines, including antibiotics and drugs for common diseases, that can treat 30,000 people for a month, the UN health agency said in a statement. It also includes medication for 500 severe diarrhea cases and 200 surgical interventions for those with trauma injuries. Earlier Wednesday, the UN launched a $23.5 million appeal to help those displaced in northern Yemen.
