RIYADH: Riyadh police have arrested more than 200 violators of various regulations in an operation in the Wizarat district of the city.

The force sent personnel to scour the district and discover the nature of crimes, their locations and the methods of operation.

In the first operation, the special force arrested two Asians for forging seals, visas and official documents to go with applications for visas besides counterfeit family cards and iqamas. The teams also seized forged documents from the office that could have helped get donations from charities. The team also apprehended expatriates engaged in a number of crimes such as selling hashish and other narcotic drugs and liquor. The team arrested two expatriates who smuggled large number of overstayers into the city.

At the time of the arrest, one of them was carrying eight illegal workers of varying nationalities in his minibus.

The police also arrested 200 people who did not have residence permits or other documents to justify their presence in the Kingdom.
