JEDDAH: At the ongoing Go Sport Ramadan Championship for companies, the last league round witnessed a big surprise when Iffco team surprised all and knocked down Batarfi, one of the toughest teams in the tournament, 2-1, at a football field on Jeddah’s North Corniche, over the weekend.
Iffco entered the game hoping to qualify for the final round and did qualify along with Al Rwezan, who beat Al Bugami 3-2.
Al Quthmi team, which had its ups and downs since the beginning of the tournament on Aug. 26, could not make it and left the competition after losing to Bagedo team 4-2.
Meanwhile, Baghlaf and Talat Al-Zahrani teams qualified after tying one to one.
In the third group, former defender of Al Nasser football club Hadi Sharifi Clear team succeeded to lead his team to tie up with Rikaz and qualify to the final round. In another surprise, Momento team led by former national player Khalid Gahwaji disappointed their fans when they were defeated 4-3 by Xenical.
