Here’s another piece of desert trivia for ya: Bedouin shepherds really don’t like it when you spook their camels. A Bangladeshi man learned the answers to these two pieces of trivia the hard way, by being beaten up by two Saudi shepherds after the umbrella he was using for shade sent their camels running in all different directions. According to a report in yesterday’s Al-Riyadh newspaper, the Bangladeshi man later complained to the police, who arrested the shepherds. The two got very angry when the umbrella ruined their day (requiring them to go out and collect spooked camels). Other shepherds, however, condemned their compatriots’ violence.
