JEDDAH: Following directives from the Saudi authorities, the Pakistan International School (English Section), Jeddah, has extended its summer break, according to the school’s principal, Sehar Kamran.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah issued an order on Thursday delaying the reopening of schools after the summer break in order to make necessary preparations for combating the spread of the H1N1 virus.
Kamran said her school would reopen on Oct. 10 for students of classes upward of VII and on Oct. 17 for the playgroup and classes up to VI. All staff members must report for duty on Sept. 27, however, as the school will hold a swine-flu awareness session for them, she said.
