TAIF: A Saudi man, three of his children and his maid were killed in a car accident on the Riyadh-Taif highway. The mother and one child survived the accident. According to eyewitnesses the father lost control of his car, which rolled a number of times.
Youth held for stabbing brother
MAKKAH: A man in his 20s has been arrested on charges he fatally stabbed his brother, according to a report in Al-Madinah newspaper on Friday. The murder reportedly occurred in Al-Sabhani land plot in Makkah. Police said the victim was alive when he reached hospital with numerous stab wounds, but he died shortly after arrival.
Drowned man’s body recovered
HOFUF: Coast guard officials in the Eastern Province recovered the body of an 18-year-old Saudi who drowned in Jubail on Thursday. The man apparently entered a dangerous, no-swimming area. The body was taken to a hospital in Jubail.
Man gunned down during Eid
ARAR: Police in Al-Jouf arrested a man on charges he killed his friend on the second day of Eid (on Monday) in Arar. Police made the arrest after they received reports from a local hospital that it received the body of a 29-year-old Saudi with a bullet wound to his chest.
IISD announces new schedule
DAMMAM: The elementary section (LKG to Class V) of International Indian School in Dammam will reopen on Oct. 17 while the high school section (VI to XII) on Oct. 10, Principal E.K. Mohd Shaffe said. The teaching staff should, however, report on Sept. 27. The decision was taken on the basis of instructions by the Saudi Ministry of Education.
