JEDDAH: Two of the as-of-yet unnamed suspects in the case of a man who boasted about his sexual adventures on LBC’s “Bold Red Line” in July stood before a court in Jeddah on Monday and denied the charges against them.
The judge in the case, Sheikh Muhammad Amin, said he would summon other suspects involved in the incident but were not currently in custody. Amin is filling in for the assigned judge in the case, Sheikh Abid Al-Azouri, who is on vacation.
Four men, including the main accused perpetrator, Muhammad Abdul Jawad, have been in detention for more than 40 days. The court is scheduled to resume hearings on Tuesday when all four men are expected to appear before the judge.
Abdul Jawad is a 32-year-old divorced father and employee of Saudi Arabian Airlines. The airline has said he is still considered an employee and it will wait until a verdict is issued to decide what to do with him.
Abdul Jawad maintains that the program’s producers took several hours of footage and edited it down to a minutes-long segment to portray him in the most lecherous light.
