JEDDAH: The Riyadh derby match between Al-Nasr and Al-Hilal ended 2-2 in round four of the Zain Saudi Pofessional League on Tuesday at King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh.
A huge number of fans, especially from Hilal side, filled the stadium to watch the match.
Nasr got first on the scoreboard with a fourth minute penalty kick by Muhammad Al-Sahlawi.
Nasr then assumed total control of the midfield and came close to scoring the second goal. Ahmad Al-Fareedi of Hilal restored parity in the match by slamming home a nice shot from inside the penalty box in the 33rd minute to end the first half 1-1.
In the second half, Hilal dominated for most of the match but Hussein Abdul Ghani gave Nasr a 2-1 lead with a goal from long distance in the 63rd minute.
Hilal pushed forward in search of an equalizer that finally came when Ahmad Al-Suwaileh slotted the ball home from inside the penalty box.
The result of the match left Hilal in the lead of the standings on 10 points with Al-Ittihad on 9 points but with a game in hand. Nasr advanced to the eighth position on 2 points.
In the other match, Al-Qadisia defeated Wehda in Alkhobar 1-0. With the win Qadisia moved up to fifth place on 4 points while Wehda remained seventh on 2 points.
Three matches take place Wednesday headlined by the Shabab-Ahli match in Riyadh.
Al-Hazem faces Al-Raid in Al-Rass and Al-Ittifaq welcomes Al-Fateh in Dammam.
Meantime, Ittihad is scheduled to play its AFC champions League quarterfinal second leg match against PFC Pakhtakor Tashkent of Uzbekistan on Thursday at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah. Ittihad and Pakhtakor drew the first leg 1-1 in Uzbekistan on Sept. 24.
