A new series of German language course has been launched in Riyadh. “Check out the new and improved facilities of the German Language Center and register as early as possible to attend the course sessions,” said a spokesman of the German Embassy. German language courses for beginners will be taught daily from Saturday to Thursday from 6 p.m. onward.
Four to 10 language lessons will be given every week. The German Language Center will charge SR3,100 for the 100-lesson course including books, while SR1,700 will be charged for 50 lessons. One can visit www.riad.diplo.de for detailed information about the course.
German, today, is overall the third most learned language worldwide. It is one of the world’s major languages and the most widely spoken first language in the European Union. Around the world, German is spoken by approximately 130 million “first language” native speakers and also by about 100 million non-native speakers.
Standard German is widely taught in schools, universities and Goethe Institutes worldwide.
