JEDDAH: Organized by the Japan Cooperation Center for the Middle East (JCCME), workshops focusing on a wide range of advanced water technologies are to be held in major cities of the Kingdom this month.
The free event is scheduled to begin first at 9:00a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10 in the Hofuf Room of the InterContinental Hotel in Riyadh and will include presentations from eleven Japanese companies on practical expertise such as financing for water projects, desalination, wastewater treatment, water re-use, environmental management, and strategic business development. The workshop will then be held in Jeddah the following day also at 9:00 a.m. at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) and is expected to include the same information as the Riyadh workshop.
Among the eleven companies at the workshops, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. will speak about its desalination plant. Nitto Denko Corporation will explain Seawater desalination and wastewater reuse using new RO membrane technologies while Toray Industries Inc. will introduce the latest developments in membrane technology. Sumitomo Corporation will present its incentive program for water business and Japanese Bank for International Corporation will discuss its role in financing water sector projects in the Middle East.
