RIYADH: Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Prince Naif will leave here on Sunday for Cairo on a four-day official visit. He will witness the signing of an extradition treaty with Egypt.
“Prince Naif and Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif will hold detailed talks on Monday in the presence of delegates from both countries,” a spokesman of Nazif said in Cairo.
This is Prince Naif’s first visit to Egypt after becoming the second deputy premier. His talks with Egyptian officials will focus on strengthening bilateral economic, cultural and scientific ties. The Cairo talks will also cover prospects of expanding cooperation between Saudi and Egyptian universities and research centers, the Saudi Press Agency said.
Prime Minister Nazif and Prince Naif will witness the signing of two security agreements; one related to combating drugs and the other on extradition of wanted criminals, SPA said.
In a statement on the occasion, Nazif highlighted the strong relations between Saudi Arabia and Egypt and the mutual understanding between the two governments. Prince Naif’s visit will take Saudi-Egyptian relations to new heights.
