JEDDAH: The Department of Private and Foreign Schools at the General Administration for Girls Education in Jeddah has launched a massive swine flu awareness campaign targeting more than 40,000 girl students.
The department’s director, Muhammad Hassan Yousef, said the campaign is part of a preventive program adopted by the General Administration for Girls Education in Jeddah following directives from the Ministry of Education to provide a healthy atmosphere to students and teachers. He added that the program also includes training around 500 women teachers on how to deal with the virus.
Yousef praised the ongoing cooperation between the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education to mitigate the spread of swine flu. He added that the training sessions that are being held at all of Jeddah’s schools are basic elements in combating the disease.
Yousef said plans that are being pursued by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health to mitigate the spread of the illness, how to deal with it and how to report cases would be explained during the campaign.
