JEDDAH: Haj Minister Fouad Al-Farsy has approved the Car Syndicate’s operation plan for the current Haj season. The Syndicate transports foreign pilgrims around the Kingdom when they arrive in the country.
“A total of 19,501 buses with 900,543 seats will be available to transport pilgrims during this year’s Haj season between Oct.4 and Jan.1 while the number of pilgrims to be transported is estimated at 1.65 million,” Chairman of the Car Syndicate retired Maj. Gen. Muhammad Jauhargi said in Jeddah on Friday. He added that 300 spare buses would also be available for service.
The Syndicate will supervise pilgrim transportation in Makkah, Madinah and Jeddah as well as airports, seaports and all the roads linking the three cities and various holy sites, he said.
“The Syndicate’s website, in English, Arabic and French, will help in its close cooperation with various departments and companies related to pilgrim transporting,” he said.
