JEDDAH: Pak Ahmadabad Cricket Club and Natco won their respective matches against Pure Food and Old Students Cricket Club during the afternoon session in the Division I first week matches sponsored by ACE Travel and organized by Jeddah Cricket Association for this season.
At JCA ground No.1, the old students Cricket Club captain Zaheer Peeran won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 115 for 5 wickets in allotted overs.
Mansoor top-scored with 41 runs with the help of five hits to the fence. Moosa scored 22 and Mohammad Najim made 17 runs. Fahad, Ashiq Ali and Abdul Rehman took one each for Natco. Natco in reply reached their target of 117 for the loss of 3 wickets in 11.4 overs.
Junaid was the top scorer with 73 valuable runs in only 28 balls with the help of 3x6 & 9x4, the other notable performer with the bat was Natco’s skipper Humayoon Farooq who made 22 runs. Hameed and Jehanzeb took one wicket each for the Old Students-XI. Natco won by 7 wickets.
In the second match of the day at JCA ground No.2, Pure Food Cricket Club after winning the toss elected to bat first and was bundled out for a paltry 99 runs. Shabbir was the highest scorer with 39 runs.
Imran scored 13 runs while Sajjad contributed 11 runs, for Pak Ahmadabad-XI Younus had 3 for 10, Abid took 2 for 14 while Yaseen took 1 for 19.
In reply the Pak Ahmadabad-XI achieved the victory target of 100 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 12 overs and won the match by 6 wickets.
Ashraf was the architect of Pak Ahmadabad-XI as he hit 56 runs and remained unbeaten with the help seven hits to the fence while his partner Faraz scored 20 valuable runs. Basheer of Pure Foods took 2 wickets while Rashid had a wicket.
