JEDDAH: Sky Freight-TFC rocketed to the top of the team standings with a prodigious display that netted it the Team of the Week and Bowler of the Week double during the third week of the Faris Trading Monday Night Bowling League 11th Season at the Jeddah Lanes in Mosadia Plaza here.
Sky Freight finished the night on 45.5 points, the most by any team so far in the young competition, as it left the field gasping in its wake.
The opening week honoree, Insektos, were a distant second on 36 points with Faris Trading on 35.5 in a big move that lifted the sponsored team two places to fourth in the standings.
Jeddah Lanes came through with 31 points in fourth position, while D’ Barkads missed the 30-point mark by a mere half point on 29.5. Inserts Amigos were on 29 points followed by My Angel 24.5, Al Mottawer Group 20 and International 19.
The last three teams of the night Shawly Restaurant 18, Bugshan Est. 15 and Grave Vibration 9.
Randy Mata, one among the four Class O bowlers on the Sky Freight lineup, shot the high series of 697 to become the Bowler of the Week on lines of 245, 228 and 224.
Sky Freight was just 2.5 points shy of what could have been the league’s first perfect score of 48 points as it went first-first-third in the three games and first in overall output.
James Galvan and Pancho Cuevas backed up Mata with full games of 619 and 539 while Oca Bernabe and Goying Salazar made contributions of 224-212 and 178-201.
Insektos had been consistent the past three weeks to keep Sky Freight company as teams to cross the century mark in total points. Such was not the case with second week honoree My Angel as it found itself a far third behind Sky Freight and Insektos following its collapse on the night.
Insektos relied on the two-pronged attack of Hero Garcia and Nonie Yap who drilled 637 and 614. Mao Orolfo added the other full score of 582 to go wit the 185-171 by Wilson Treguero and 199-202 by Zaldy Parinas.
Faris Trading had four players whose full games counted, led by the pair of Igna Salgado and Bonnie Garcia who fired matching 600s, while Nick Gozun added 583 and Rally Zamora 560. Val Magsino and Ljay Laderas shared the remaining three games at 184 and 155-178.
Jeddah Lanes built their total on the back of the quartet of Gerry Tano 591, Rudy Valenzuela 581, Jun Palacios 565 and Gerry Mandanas 535. Zaldy Bacero tossed in 182 and Eddie Tuico 154-157.
Nap Patayan was among those to cross the 600-series mark, carding 625 at the helm of D’ Barkads who also received identical 575s from Leo Edejer and Leo Pangilinan, 196-177 from Mio Centeno, 159-168 from Obie Ycasas and 168-197 from Roger Daquiaog.
