RIYADH: Jet Airways, India’s premier airline, has announced daily flights between Riyadh and Mumbai starting Oct. 25.
Afzal Azam Baig, general manager for Jet Airways (Saudi Arabia), said the daily service would be offered on board a Boeing 737-800.
“We are confident that the daily Mumbai-Riyadh service will prove similarly popular with passengers who will be more comfortable flying on board new aircrafts,” said Baig.
He added that Jet Airways would leave Mumbai at 7:30 p.m. and arrive in Riyadh at 9:15 p.m. The same plane would then leave Riyadh at 10:15 p.m. and arrive in Mumbai at 4:20 a.m.
This is the airline’s second major expansion on the Saudi-India sector. Jet Airways is currently operating daily flights to Jeddah from Mumbai besides eight other destinations in the Gulf.
“Jet Airways has already established itself as a formidable brand in the intensely competitive India-Gulf sector in a relatively short period of time on account of the warmth of its service and quality of its in-flight product,” he added. “The new service would also enable us to offer passengers seamless connectivity and a world-class product on the Indo-Gulf sector,” he said.
Jet Airways has daily flights to Kuwait, Bahrain, Muscat, Doha, Jeddah, Sharjah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi from several Indian cities. The airline currently operates a fleet of 87 aircrafts, which includes 10 Boeing 777-300 ERs.
Its flights to 63 destinations span the length and breadth of India and beyond, including New York (both JFK and Newark), Toronto, Brussels, London (Heathrow), Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Colombo, Bangkok, Katmandu, Dhaka, Kuwait, Bahrain, Muscat, Doha, Jeddah, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The airline will continue to connect existing international destinations with additional gateway points across its network in the future. Jet Airways currently operates over 370 daily flights.
