RIYADH: A joint military exercise, nicknamed “Al-Sammam-3,” began in the southern region on Wednesday with the participation of Pakistani forces, the Saudi Armed Forces said in a statement.
Maj. Gen. Ali bin Zaid Khawaji, commander of forces in the southern region, told the Saudi Press Agency that the three-week-long exercise was aimed at improving the performance of the Saudi armed forces.
The King Faisal Tenth Brigade and a group from the Pakistani armed forces are taking part in the program, which according to Khawaji, will contribute positively to enhancing cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries.
