JEDDAH: A newly married couple’s first night together turned into a nightmare when the bride literally shot herself in the foot, Okaz reported on Saturday. The pair, who had their wedding in Jeddah, decided to spend their honeymoon at the seaside in northern Abhur. Before entering their room, however, the groom took a pistol out of his car and showed it to the bride as proof that he was concerned about her safety and would guard her for life. To show her appreciation, she took the pistol and asked what would happen if she pointed the gun at her foot and pulled the trigger. He reassured her he would not allow even a pin to pierce her foot. Suddenly the gun went off, with the groom not realizing it had actually been loaded. An ambulance was called and the bride was rushed to hospital.
