AL-JOUF: Gov. of Al-Jouf Prince Fahd bin Badr opened a multimillion 220-bed hospital here on Saturday at a function that was also attended by Minister of Health Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah.
The SR155 million Tabarjal General Hospital was described by Al-Rabeeah as a “towering medical edifice” in our homeland of giving, fraternity and love.
In his address on the occasion, Al-Rabeeah said that the ministry announced in Ramadan a Kingdomwide project to improve health-care. He added that the project is based on an analysis of the current health-care system. “The project is based on the principles of comprehensiveness, justice and equality, and is aimed at providing citizens with health services wherever they might be,” he said.
Al-Rabeeah pointed out that his ministry has initiated new programs to improve performance at all health-care facilities.
“These initiatives, among others, include a family management program, a program for medical care in the home, a clinical attendance program and a patients’ relationship program,” he added.
The governor also opened on Friday a number of health facilities in Qurayat. These include a diabetes center, a poisons lab and outpatient clinics costing about SR17 million.
“These projects were undertaken by our government to provide high-quality health services to citizens and expatriates,” he said.
Prince Fahd also inspected a new Qurayat governorate building that is being built on more than 4,000 square meters of land at a cost of SR15 million. More than 65 percent of work on the project has been completed; the building will be ready for use in the middle of next year.
He also inspected King Abdullah’s development housing project which comprises 102 two-floor housing units on an area of 120,000 square meters. The first phase of the project cost more than SR30 million.
