CAIRO: Alwaleed bin Talal Foundation headed by Prince Alwaleed bin Talal has made a donation of 800,000 Egyptian pounds to the families of the dead and those injured in a train accident in the country. Eighteen people were killed and more than 30 injured when two trains collided at high speed in Al-Ayyat, south of Cairo, on Oct. 25.
Alwaleed conveyed his readiness to help the accident victims in a letter addressed to Ali Al-Moselhi, Egyptian minister of social solidarity.
The letter was handed to the minister by Mohamed Hasan Al-Mujadidi, executive director of the prince’s office. The distribution of checks will be made in coordination with the Egyptian government.
A total of 45 checks are being handed to the injured victims and the families of the dead.
