JEDDAH: The Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA) will organize the T10 Open Challenge Cup Cricket Tournament from Dec.4 onwards.

Clubs wishing to participate will have to register their team with a list of 15 players from any region. The tourney will have a special set of rules set by the committee. The matches will be played in two sessions form 8 am — 12.15 pm and 2 pm — 5.30 pm.

JCA also plans to organize other events for different age groups according to JCA President Mohammad Iqbal.

For the young cricketers there will be a youth development program along with other social activities. He also said the JCA will provide financial support to promising cricketers and teams who cannot afford to take part in the regular league matches

Elections

Meanwhile JCA will hold elections for the Executive Committee on Tuesday Dec. 22. Nomination forms will be given to the registered clubs from which a member will be eligible to participate in the elections. The last date for submission of forms will be Dec. 11. The present committee will submit their resignations on the day of the elections. The newly elected Executive Committee members will meet within a week to nominate office bearers who will take then take the responsibilities for the running of the day-to-day affairs. The rules and regulation made for organizing the cricket events will be given to all the clubs in English and Urdu.
