JEDDAH: Effat University has opened its new technology-enhanced laboratory equipped with computers that will enable students to communicate with their teachers in the university as well as research centers and major libraries around the world.
The new classroom contains 21 high technology desktop computers connected via the university’s internal network, in addition to all necessary accessories.
The technology upgrade was completed with the support of Construction Products Holding Company (CPC).
The upgrade was carried out in recognition of the university’s strategic role in serving the community and to assist in its growth and development.
“CPC’s support to Effat University will inspire and lead our students to be more innovative and empower them to play a leading role in our society and in the world,” said Effat University President Dr. Haifa Jamal Al-Lail.
“CPC’s initiative to upgrade the technological capabilities of our classrooms would definitely be a big boost to our students. What CPC has done is set an example for the private sector to follow and support all stages of education, in order to enable educational institutions to continue their mission and graduate distinguished scholars to be able to deal with new challenges,” she added.
Faysal Alaquil, director, Business Development and Administrative Affairs of CPC, said the initiative forms part of the university’s corporate social responsibility program. “As one of several leading national companies, it is incumbent upon us to help in the development of this nation and its people. We have realized the enormous efforts undertaken by Effat University for upgrading their educational facilities and we wanted to support them in this regard,” Alaquil added.
